The Nomtsas Farm – Conservation in Southern Namibia
In the heart of southern Namibia lies Nomtsas Farm, covering an impressive 45,000 hectares – a place where agriculture and conservation exist in harmony. Over 22,000 hectares of this land have been designated as a wilderness area, left entirely to nature – untouched, free, and wild.
As part of our conservation-minded farming approach, we manage Nomtsas according to the Allan Savory principles – with the goal of encouraging vegetation growth through rotational grazing and, in doing so, supporting long-term regeneration of the landscape. At the core of this practice is the plant world, as healthy vegetation forms the basis for a rich birdlife, a diverse reptile population, and numerous wild mammals.
In addition, we have created twelve shallow dams, which serve as vital breeding and resting sites for birds and have become true biodiversity hotspots.
We are proud to protect and care for this special piece of Namibia – and to contribute meaningfully to conservation efforts in the country.
